Fitness and Weight Loss Plan
My strategy for my fitness journey isn’t very complex. However, before I provide the quick summary of my plan I suggest you read my About Ellis page, as well as, Losing 100 Pounds with Sustainable Diet Changes. These two pages will give you a really good understanding of my weight problem and how I tackled the first 100 pounds of weight loss.
Having said that, my plan forward is to use a very similar strategy as I did to lose the first 100 pounds. Basically, I will provide myself a daily calorie limit and I won’t go over it. In addition, I will incorporate weight lifting and cardio at least 3 times per week. Sounds so simple, doesn’t it?
Now, my calorie limit is likely higher than many people are used to hearing from someone that’s on a diet. In fact, my calorie limit for the first 100 pounds of weight loss was 3,500 calories a day. Yes, I consumed 3,500 calories each and every day and I ended up losing 140 pounds! I know that surprises people, but it’s all in where you start. Check out my article on Calories and Weight Loss for more of my thoughts on that.
My calorie limit going forward will be 2,800 calories a day. I believe this level of eating will carry me to the 294.6 pound goal, as well as, allow me plenty of nutrients to gain muscle mass along the way. And of course, the goal is to progressively choose more and more healthy foods for the bulk of the calories.
Accountability and Progress Tracking on my Fitness Journey
All weight loss progress will be tracked and reported every month on this page. I’ll be sharing it all – weight lost, weight gained, pictures (good & bad), and any other general information that may have impacted my monthly progress.
This page will serve as the “home base” for all of my fitness and weight loss updates. However, each blog post that contains updates to my fitness journey will also appear on the main page of EllisFit.com, as well as, at the right-hand sidebar of this page.
Be sure to come back to this page for updates. And don’t forget to check out the other sections of this blog to see my favorite healthy recipes, product reviews and lessons learned along the way!
Thanks for checking out my progress!
